The first Bled Bike Festival Media Event took place last Thursday. We hosted six interesting speakers, from the local to the national  social environment. One of the main message everyone could agree is the importance of such a festival event for the entire destination. The fact is that the Bled Bike Festival attracts exactly the target customers described in the destination strategic documents, families and green, active people.

There are no doubts that Cycling as a Tourism Product could contribute more and more in the near future to this gorgeous Alpine Pearl.

Slovenia is a remarkable country and absolutely perfect for bikers. There are numerous mountain biking areas, all types of terrain for adventure-gravel biking, diverse and dynamic routes for road cycling, demanding mountain passes and remote road connections. A visit of Slovenia with a bike is an excellent choice for all types of bikers, also for bike travelers and new E-bike nomads. I can say, without much exaggeration, that this little chicken-shaped country offers a lot of everything and all that a biker needs for living out his/her dreams and goals.

I can proudly say that this little land “on the sunny side of the Alps”, a term our locals like to use, is an excellent choice for all types of bikers: lovers of mountain trails, road cyclists as well as travel (trekking) researchers and E-bike users.

Lake Bled hardly needs an introduction – especially, if a picture tells a thousand words. There could quite possibly be nothing more incentive than a visit to one of Europe’s most stunning lakes, rowing a boat to the island and climbing the stairs to the church, once you are there.

This little and exceptionally beautiful town can be found in the Julian Alps, in Northwestern Slovenia..

The feeling, when one is riding a bike down a narrow, winding trail to the valley is indescribable. The emotions, when one is surrounded by pristine nature of Slovenian mountains and Triglav National Park are unforgettable. The sensations, when at the end of the tour, somewhat dirty, sweaty and tired, one sits down for a cool beer and a delicious treat in a local gostilna, are amazing and most welcome. All this and more is mountain biking on numerous trails, remote lanes and forest tracks in the Slovenian Alpine world, which offers, unlike many neighboring destinations, an abundance of primal biking explorations.

Slovenia is a marvelous country for mountain biking. One can find here somewhat forgotten paths, diverse single trails and remote forest roads, which connect mountain meadows as well as the valleys below.

It is often said that we should look for beauty in the small things. If we follow this suggestion we sometimes find even more fascinating things than expect. Slovenia is guaranteed to be the best example of this. A small land that you can come from one side to another in under 3 hours, a land that is home to only 2 million people. But a land to countless natural wonders. From high mountains that touch the sky, to mysterious underworld in Karst. From breathtaking alpine lakes high above the tree line to emerald rivers and lakes and blue Adriatic sea. From big and modern cities to small, traditional villages. Slovenia is a country of diversity.

Slovenia is a unique destination for exploring. It is a great destination for people who prefer an active experience – the best and most excellent experience in the time that is available.
